Staff and children at Nisse Treehouse Daycare Center in Spring Grove invite the public to share in “Random Acts of Kindness” during the month of February.

Come to the daycare center during open hours and write down an act of kindness on a heart and then tape it to the wall where the sign “February is Random Acts of Kindness Month” is posted.

There’s already a growing collection of hearts on the wall. People can write as many as hearts as they wish, owner Darcy Thorson said.

February is known as Random Acts of Kindness month. The actual week takes place Feb. 12 through 18, according to the official website of the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.

Thorson said they want to make an effort to show their children and adults of all ages what Random Acts of Kindness will do for the community and for the daycare center.

“We want to teach them that it’s nice to be kind and live by the Golden Rule,” Thorson said. “Nowadays, we get out of that with busy lives. We’re teaching future generations to do good for other people and that it’s not about ourselves all the time.”

Students in individual classrooms are having their own events as well to show the kids random acts of kindness are a gift that keeps on giving.
