The Simple Living Farmers Market of Mabel and Caledonia will start the 2017 season on Wednesday, April 26, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Redwood Café parking lot in Caledonia, and on Saturday, April 29, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Mabel. Vendors will be open rain, shine or snow.

Farmers markets are a great way to find locally-grown fresh and preserved foods as well as baked goods, desserts and locally-made crafts.

Tim Newman, one of the Simple Living vendors, agrees. “Good friends, good food and a beautiful day,” he said. “Can’t beat farm fresh food.”

All of the sellers at the market work together to set up, help customers and socialize with anyone willing to spend a few minutes chatting. When describing the atmosphere at the market, Newman stated, “It’s like extended family.”

The Simple Living Farmers Market was founded in 2010 with a desire to form an association with other businesses and vendors in the area. It is located on Highway 44, one-quarter mile west of Mabel on Saturday mornings and at the Redwood Café parking lot in Caledonia on Wednesday afternoons. The season runs through the end of October.
