Vote for your favorite non-profit to be a
'Celebrity Server' during Music-in-the-Park

Five local non-profit groups are vying for the special honor of "Celebrity Server" during a Music-in-the-Park event this summer. Each Music-in-the-Park sponsor is designated one evening that they serve concessions. Merchants Bank of Spring Grove is one of the sponsors this year and has decided to do their evening a little differently.
"It is unique in Spring Grove that non-profits get to serve the concessions during Music-in-the-Park," commented Teresa Fegyak, Merchants Bank customer service representative.
"And it's not just one non-profit, but many take turns; I think that is such a neat thing. One of the reasons we are doing the 'Celebrity Server' contest is to help get people talking about the Music-in-the-Park events."
Running through May 31, people can stop in at Merchants Bank-Spring Grove and cast up to three votes daily. The three votes can all be for one group or three different groups (See the jars pictured to the right).
At the end, the ballots will be counted and the winning non-profit will be notified that they will be the lucky "Celebrity Servers" on Wednesday, June 19, during the evening that Tunnel Vision will play.
All proceeds from that evening's food sales will go to the winning Celebrity Server non-profit group. The five groups that are vying are: Beary Patch Preschool, Community Task Force (Post Prom), Dollars for Scholars, Families For Education (F.F.E.) and the Spring Grove Athletic Boosters.
A brief description of each non-profit is on display at the bank where the votes can be placed. No purchase or bank relationship is needed in order to vote.
"We encourage everyone to stop in and vote for their favorite non-profit group or groups," added Fegyak. "Who do you think will be the 'Celebrity Server'?"
This year's Music-in-the-Park schedule is in place for Wednesday evenings June 5 through July 31. The concession servers for each week are still being determined.
The musical schedule is: June 5 - Buck Hollow Band, June 12 - Toe Tappers Band, June 19 - Tunnel Vision Band, June 26 - Starliters Band, July 3 - Jim Busta Band with Mollie B, July 10 - Joe Cody Band, July 17 - Fusion Group, July 25 - Jim Busta Band with Mollie B and July 31 - Brian Stein.
Concessions open at 6 p.m. and the music begins at 6:30 p.m. The location is still up in the air (Fest Bldg. vs. Viking Park). Watch for further details in the future.
