LETTER: Main Street project means
alternate routes to school, for now
Tuesday, August 20, 2013 8:00 AM
Greetings from Spring Grove Public Schools! We look forward to welcoming students and families back to our building in a few weeks.
It has been a busy summer, and I want to take this opportunity to provide you with information regarding the gym floor installation and the Main Street project.
I am happy to report that the gym floor installation began last Friday. Athletic Performance Solutions was scheduled to begin on July 22, but unfortunately they ran in to complications on an installation project in the metro area that put them five weeks behind schedule.
I want to commend Athletic Director Michelle Anderson and our volleyball players for their flexibility during the start of their season as they have not been able to be on the game gym floor.
Between the new gym floor and the paint job completed by T-N-T Painting, the game gym is going to look great!
There has been a lot of activity outside the building as well. MnDOT is working to complete as much as they can, but we anticipate that we will need to have some alternate routes at the beginning of the school year.
We are working with Mayor Bruce Poole and MnDOT to coordinate the safest routes for our students, and we will communicate these to you as soon as decisions have been made.
We look forward to seeing you back at school this fall!
