Marian K. Olson, 85, of Plymouth, Minn., died Oct. 17, 2014.
The former Marian Kathleen Kinneberg was born Feb. 10, 1929, on the Kinneberg farm in Spring Grove, to Nelvin and Manda Engene Kinneberg. She graduated from Spring Grove High School and Rochester Junior College. She married John H. Olson May 22, 1955, in the Wilmington Church. The family was looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary in May. John and Marian had three children and lived in North Platte (1962 to 1967) and Omaha, Neb., before returning to Minnesota in 1987.
She is remembered as a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Through the years, she was active in various church, school and services organizations including working as a hospice volunteer and aide.
She is survived by her husband, son, Bryan Olson of E. Dundee, Ill., daughters, Kathleen Babin of Sacramento, Calif., and Kristi Olson of Phoenix, Ariz; grandchildren, Brittni Fain, Sebastian Babin and Virginia Olson; and siblings, Glenn Kinneberg of Spring Grove, Charles Kinneberg of Rochester, and Lois Kinneberg and Lyla Franklin of Phoenix.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Kinneberg, sister-in-law Sally Kinneberg, and many friends and relatives.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, Nov. 28, at 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church of Plymouth. The committal will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in Plymouth.
