Bernice Margaret Myhre, 91, of Spring Grove, died Sept. 9, 2013, at Tweeten Lutheran Health Services in Spring Grove.

She was born Dec. 18, 1921, at home in Winneshiek County to Reinhard and Alvina (Auna) Lane. She was baptized on Jan. 15, 1922, and confirmed in August of 1935 at Highland Lutheran Church by the Rev. T.O. Tolo. She was a Spring Grove High School graduate.

On March 18, 1942, she married Knut Johann Myhre, who died Nov. 7, 1971, and she later married Alvin Lloyd Myhre on March 24, 1973. Mr. Myhre died on Jan. 10, 1977.

Mrs. Myrhe worked at Tweeten Lutheran Health Care Center from 1959 to 1999. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove and its women's groups, and she was the president of Grandma Fan Club.

Survivors include her three sons, Carl (Donna) Myhre of Spring Grove, Steve Myhre of Winona, and Keith (Carrie) Myhre of La Crescent; two daughters, Anna Marie (William) Bowers of Olive Branch, Ill., and Lisa Myhre of Albuquerque, N.M.; her grandchildren, Mark (Penny) Bowers, Sheila (John) Nordsving, Dawn (Aaron) Kraus, Angela Pozanc, Rachel (Don) Cada, Joseph (Melany) Myhre, Joshua Myhre, Cassandra (Nathan) Johnson, Nicole (Chris) Fruechte, and 14 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Helen Melbostad of Spring Grove, Evelyn Valdez of Lake Villa, Ill., and Lila Mahr of Waukon; her brother, Ralph Lane of Spring Grove, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, Knut and Alvin, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Myhre, her brother, Leonard and her brothers-in-law, Ray Mahr, Arnie Pananen, Joe Valdez and Jerry Melbostad.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove; burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to service time at the church.
