Brandon L. Werner, 31, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.

He was born in Caledonia on Nov. 29, 1980, to Dale and Lola Werner.

He was raised on a farm in Caledonia, graduated from Caledonia High School in 1999, and continued to work within the local farming industry.

He was considered the strong, silent, gentle giant amongst his family and friends. He was a true family man of few words.

He was known as "Billy Bob" in his band of brothers at Burlington Mobile Gang RP10 while employed for seven years at Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

As a track maintenance technician, he was highly respected for his responsibility, work ethic, and was primarily concerned with safety and the well-being of others.

His profession gave him the opportunity to explore the country and he expressed his love of southwestern history by collecting many artifacts.

In addition to his historical interests, he enjoyed learning German and Spanish. His hobbies included singing karaoke, movies, video games, tractor pulls and hunting with his family.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Sheri (Andy) Allen; his brothers, Todd (Heather) Werner, Daniel Holzwarth and Brian (Anita) Werner; a maternal grandmother, Erma Diersen; four nephews and a niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, a maternal grandfather, and an uncle, Randy.

Funeral services were held Dec. 3 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Eitzen. Pastor Todd Krueger officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
