Danny E. "Dusty" Speltz, 59, of Rollingstone died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Lewiston Villa.

He was born Nov. 10, 1953, in Winona to Cyrus and Dolores (Hengel) Speltz. He attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Winona Senior High School.

Following high school, Dusty attended Winona Vo-Tech for two years, studying tool and die. He worked as a machinist for DCM in Winona from 1979 until retiring due to ill health in 2009.

Dusty belonged to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone, where he volunteered. He had also belonged to the Rollingstone Jaycees, bowled, shot pool, helped coach youth softball and enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting when he was younger.

His two main loves were the Green Bay Packers and shooting trap at the Winona Gun Club.

Survivors include a sister, Christy (Greg) Wheeler of Rollingstone; a brother, Jon (Gloria) Speltz of Spring Grove; and 10 nieces and nephews and their families. He is also survived by his special kitty, Cheesehead.

His parents and a sister, Sue Schell, preceded him in death.

A funeral mass was March 1 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Rollingstone with the Rev. William Kulas officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
