Diane Mary (Schieber) Yehle, 70, of Brownsville, died peacefully, Sunday, March 9, 2014, surrounded by her family at Gundersen Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.

She was born Dec. 23, 1943, in La Crosse to Joseph and Ruth (O'Neil) Schieber. She attended the Hendel Country School outside Caledonia and graduated from Loretto High School in Caledonia. Diane attended Mankato College and then worked at Gateway in La Crosse.

She married John C. Yehle. Together they had four children and later divorced. While raising her children, Diane ran her own upholstery business out of her home in Brownsville.

After her divorce, she returned to school at Western Technical College in La Crosse and earned a degree in Electronic Servicing. Diane loved "everything" to do with horses, bowling, gardening, playing cards, boating and fishing. She was passionate about politics and was a volunteer for the Brownsville Fire Department. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and her house on the river.

She is survived by her four children, Melinda "Mel" (Jon) Laschenski of Houston, John "Jay" (Laura) Yehle of Onalaska, Wis., Susan "Sue" (Jason) Crouch of Mabel, Charles (Jennifer) Yehle of La Crescent; 11 grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Ashley, Justin, Jayden, Reese, Ethan, Shawn, Nathan, Mason and Logan; six brothers, Joe (Lorrie) Schieber of Caledonia, Tom Schieber of St. Louis Park, Mike (Sue) Schieber of Spring Grove, Steve (Audry) of La Crescent, Tim (Pam) Schieber and Mark (Tina) Schieber, both of Caledonia; honorary children, Mary and Dan Sheehan, and Mark and Michelle Schnick; and longtime friend, Connie Miller of La Crosse.
