Donna Kay Hughes Gross, 63, died at her home in West Union, Iowa, on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014.

She was born in Postville, Iowa, on July 18, 1951. She was baptized on Aug. 8, 1951, at Frankville Community Presbyterian Church in Frankville, Iowa. Donna confirmed her faith on May 11, 1965, at Frankville Presbyterian Church.

Donna was a farm wife and an EMT. She worked as a Fayette County Dispatch Supervisor until she and Reggie retired last year.

Donna and Reggie were married May 15, 1993, at Goeken Park in Eldorado, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, Reginald Gross, West Union, and her five children: Tonia (Eric) Courtney, West Des Moines, Iowa; Clint (Krissy) Bodensteiner, Castalia, Iowa; Erik (Tami) Bodensteiner, Castalia; Robert and Amy Gross, Spring Grove; and Michael (friend, Tamara) Gross of Denver, Iowa.

She is also survived by her mother, Lilah Hughes, of Postville, Iowa; brothers, Ronald (Linda) Hughes, Luana, Iowa, and Ricky (Patty) Hughes, Decorah, Iowa; and a sister, Linda (Bruce) Shoening of Tampa Bay, Fla.

She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Jean Gross of Manchester, Iowa, Sarina (Dennis) Chapman of Ankeny, Iowa, and a brother-in-law Lee (Roxie) Gross of Alta Vista, Calif.

Donna is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Breanna, Dylan, and Alex Courtney; Brett, Hailey and Brayden Bodesteiner; Tristen and Cody Bodensteiner; and Kaitlyn, Adelia, Mya and Madasyn Gross as well as a great-grandson, Bentley Scott Courtney.

She was preceded in death by her father, Evart Hughes, and a brother-in-law, Duncan Gross.

Memorial Services were held at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado on Jan. 13.
