Francis "Jinks" Jennings, 93, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home.

He was born Dec. 10, 1919, in Caledonia to Frank and Esther (Davy) Jennings. Francis served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1942-45. He married Marlys Anderson on Aug. 14, 1954, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia.

Francis worked at Trane Co., La Crosse, Wis., for over 32 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, Caledonia, American Legion Post 191 and the VFW. He loved gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Marlys of Caledonia; his four children, Carolyn (Mike) Fitzpatrick, Caledonia, Kathryn (Stephen) Palen, Rochester, Michael (Colleen) Jennings, Manchester, Iowa, and Ann (Chris) Diersen, Caledonia; 13 grandchildren, Christopher Fitzpatrick, David (Jenny) Fitzpatrick, Jeni (Jon) Slama, Adam (Leah) Palen, Lyndsey (Nick) Crossley, Jill (Stephen) Tacl, Alyssa Palen, Alexa Palen, Jestin (Lindsay) Jennings, Grace Jennings and Reese, Riley and Henry Diersen; and great-grandchildren, James, Emily and Lilly Fitzpatrick, Zachary and Addison Palen, Jack Jennings, and Callen Crossley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jeremee Jennings; and two brothers, Melvin and Joseph Jennings.

A Mass of Christian Burial was June 7 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. Fathers Gregory Leif and Thomas Jennings officiated and burial with military honors was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
