Lauren Keith Von Moos, 86, of South Ridge, rural Houston, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse.

He was born on March 31, 1927, in Caledonia, to John and Viola (Evans) Von Moos. Lauren attended the lower South Ridge country school. He was a die-hard farmer and steward of the land who farmed his entire life on South Ridge. Lauren enjoyed seeing how technology changed farming over the years.

He married Lucille Beckman on July 31, 1948, in South Ridge Ev. United Brethren Church, rural La Crescent. He was a loyal, lifelong member of the South Ridge United Methodist Church, where he served in many positions. Lauren enjoyed his animals and being outdoors, and loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren growing up. He resided at Golden Living Center for the past year and a half, and was named the King of Golden Living Center Applefest Royalty.

He is survived by his wife Lucille, a son Roger (Judy) Von Moos, a daughter Rachel (Jeffrey) Erdmann, four grandchildren, Jeremy Erdmann, Emily (Miguel) Guerrero, Adam Von Moos and Angela Von Moos, two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Owen Erdmann, and two sisters, Adeline Beckman and Fern (Ralph) Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Aaron Von Moos, two infant brothers, a sister, Helen Wiste, and two brothers-in-law, Freddie Beckman and Robert Wiste.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at South Ridge United Methodist Church, rural La Crescent, Pastor Mark Bengston officiating. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
