Leland "Lee" Carlton Lund, 81, of central Wisconsin, died from cancer on Aug. 20, 2013.
He was born on Oct. 29, 1931, the son of Henry and Emily (Vesterse) Lund of Black Hammer, Minn. On March 28, 1959, he married Lucille Wiese at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Oakfield, Wis. Together they resided in the Fond du Lac, Wis., area. Mr. Lund served our country in the U.S. Army for the 26th Infantry, stationed in Germany from 1948 until 1951. He then worked for Wright Tree Service for over 35 years and retired in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed pony pulling, wood crafts and gambling.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, his parents Henry and Emily, five sisters and one brother.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews of the Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa area. Also survived by special friends Kevin and Peggy (Schultz) Flaherty, Jason and Sherry (Schultz) Szymkowiak, Orville and Donna (Schultz) Kurth, Robert and Julie Hutter and Leroy and Janet Schultz.
A celebration of life took place at the VFW in Plover, Wis., on Friday Aug. 30.
Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society is assisting the family.
