Lois M. Nelson, 81, of Caledonia died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Caledonia to Jessie and Mabel (Henry) Burroughs. She married Lyle Nelson on Jan. 15, 1951, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Caledonia. He preceded her in death March 19, 1988.

Survivors include her children, Kathie (Don) Rogich and Carol (Terry) Schuldt, both of Caledonia, and Lisa (Mark) Inglett of La Crescent; daughter-in-law, Kathy Nelson, Caledonia; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Alice Schleich, Caledonia, Joan (Lee) Breeser, Eitzen, Donna (Allen) Schlinsog, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and Jeanne (Larry) Kruse, Caledonia; three brothers, Donald Burroughs, Sr., Milton (Elaine) Burroughs and Timothy (Janice) Burroughs all of Caledonia; a sister-in-law, Erma Burroughs, Caledonia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Sharon) Nelson, Jerry (Liz) Nelson, Beverly Welscher, Wilma Nelson and Sheila Nelson; her dog Anne; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Steve; an infant son, Michael; a granddaughter, Leslie Schuldt; a brother, Robert Burroughs; and a sister, Lucille Colsch.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Nov. 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia. Father Gregory Leif officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
