Lowell Frank Ranzenberger, 86, of Caledonia, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System/Franciscan Skemp Healthcare in La Crosse, Wis.

He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in Dorchester, Iowa, to Frank and Caroline (Jahn) Ranzenberger. He was baptized in his parent's home on Jan. 25, 1927, and confirmed at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eitzen on June 22, 1941. He attended rural schools.

Lowell served in the United States Army in France.

He was a lifelong farmer and had also owned a feed store.

Lowell was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eitzen.

Survivors include Lowell's brothers, Gerhard (Janice) Ranzenberger, Frank (Helen) Ranzenberger and Burdell (Susan) Ranzenberger; and his sisters, Bernice Glasrud of Spring Grove and Hazel Knies; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Elvin Ranzenberger, and his sisters, Lorrie Ranzenberger, and Shirley Tewes.

Memorial services April 20 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eitzen. Pastor Todd Krueger officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Military rights by American Legion Post #249 of Spring Grove.

Roble Funeral Home of Spring Grove assisted the family with arrangements.
