Mary Cathleen Blomgren, 68, of Rochester, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary Cathleen Skauge was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Spring Grove to Clarence and Cathrine (Burns) Skauge. She was raised in the Mabel-Spring Grove area and graduated from Mabel High School in 1963.
On June 15, 1963, she married Wayne Blomgren at St. Olaf Catholic Church in Mabel.
Mary served three terms on the Marion Township Board and one term on the Olmsted County Variance Board.
She enjoyed bowling and traveled to many national tournaments. She was a member of the Hiawatha Antique Auto Club and enjoyed touring and fellowship with club members.
The couple spent the last 17 winters at Century Plaza RV Park in Mesa, Ariz., and always had good times with all of their friends there.
Survivors include her husband; a son, David Blomgren; a daughter, Theresa (Allen) Rasmussen; and a granddaughter, Allison Rasmussen, all of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dennis and Richard; and two sisters, Beverly Sagdalen and Barbara Miller.
A memorial service will be held at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Simpson, Minn., (2123 County Rd. 16 SE Rochester) at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1.
