Robert (Bob) Eugene Linden, 59, of Preston, died Sept. 3, 2013. at Grand Meadow Healthcare Center.

He was born March 15, 1954, to Eugene and Gertrude (Lopez) Linden in Savanna, Ill.

He graduated from Preston-Fountain High School in 1972. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad after graduation. He was a "Jack of all trades" over the years.

His first marriage to Jean Conway created two wonderful children, Jonathan and Jodi.

He was a licensed practical nurse for many years, working in the geriatric field. He retired from nursing in 2009 after being diagnosed with prostate cancer.

He married Eileen (Tienter) in October of 1994 after a nine-year courtship. Neither one wanted to rush into anything. They made their home in Preston. They both shared a love of family, friends, Civil War history, antiques and rummage sales. They owned and operated OMAOLA (Old Man And Old Lady Antiques) in Preston for nine years.

He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.   

He is survived by his wife, Eileen; a son, Jonathan (Tracy) Linden of Rochester; a daughter, Jodi (Allan) Abarca of Richland Center, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Kya, Alden, Zoe and Tate Linden of Rochester and Audiana, Alejandro and Abdias, Abarca of Richland Center; sisters Mary Kay Wold of Spring Grove, Patricia (Mike) Botten of Minneapolis and Joy (Mike) Jager of Ryan, Iowa; brothers, Charles (Pete) Linden of Phillips, Wis., Robert (Hoogie) Hanson of Preston; Mike (Char) Hanson of Preston; his step-mother, Margaret (Peggy) Linden of La Crosse and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a step-mother, Nelda Hanson-Linden; a brother, Jay Linden, and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at St. Columban Church in Preston on Saturday, Sept. 28. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. with the service beginning at 2 p.m.
