Wilfred "Butch" J. Stoltz, 88, of Caledonia, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.

He was born June 7, 1923, in rural Caledonia to Julius J. and Theresa (Koenig) Stoltz. Butch was a lifelong farmer with his brother Robert and nephew Scott on the home farm, south of Caledonia on Jefferson Ridge.

He was a member of St. Mary's Parish, and he enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include a sister, Wilma Felten, and a brother, Robert (Lorene) Stoltz, both of Caledonia; nephews, John (Lorna) Felten and Scott (Nicole) Stoltz, both of Caledonia; and great-nieces and nephews, Susan Felten, Kathy (Edward) Colsch, Brad (Anne) Felten, Brian Klug, Becky Klug, Caitlin, Emily and Elizabeth Stoltz; as well as several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Dominic Felten, and a niece, Mary Klug.

A Mass of Christian Burial was March 10 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Caledonia, with Father Gregory Leif and Msgr. Donald Schmitz officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia.
