Just like other teams at Spring Grove High School, the SGHS Marching Band began its "preseason" practices this week. The first Pep Band performance will be Friday night, Aug. 31 at the home football game versus Mabel-Canton. The band will have its first marching performance at the Hesper-Mabel Steam Engine Days in Mabel on Saturday, Sept. 8.

With the help of many parent volunteers, during Band Camp each student was fitted for their uniform, which was also inspected to make sure it was in tip-top shape for the upcoming year. Each piece of the uniform that had to be fitted included pants, jacket, overlay, hat and shoes.

The Band Camp runs through Wednesday with three-hour practices each night. Band members will also be meeting before school each morning during the first week of school to prepare for their Steam Engine debut.
