Alene Folz, daughter of Paul and Kristy Folz of Spring Grove has been accepted for the 2014 fall semester at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. Her planned major fields of study are early childhood education/special education and elementary education. Founded in 1963, Southwest Minnesota State University experiences continual growth by serving students on-campus, online and around the state. Students enjoy a close working relationship with faculty and other students as well as a robust campus environment with over $100 million in construction over the past ten years including a new Student Center and Conference Center; Foundation Residence Apartments; a renovated library and science labs; a new Regional Event Center, home to Mustang Football and Soccer; and Sweetland Hall, a new 250-bed residence hall that opened in Fall 2009.
