Thirty-nine incoming kindergarteners were invited to participate in Kinder Prep Academy this past week. The academy gives the students a chance to become familiar with their kindergarten teachers as well as the school. This year's kindergarten class will be split and Mrs. Amy Milbradt will join Mrs. Betty Johnson as kindergarten teachers for the 2012-13 school year. The academy also helps the children calm some of those first-day jitters by already knowing where their classroom and lockers are. This year's theme was penguins - trying to think cool since it has been so hot. On their last day, the children received a pencil box with a few supplies as well as a folder. They played on the playground and had a mini tour of the school.
