Sue Barker's Daycare kids had a surprise on Dec. 19 when the mailman brought some visitors from England.

In the box was "Wibble" and "Wobble", two knit dolls that were from a daycare in England that are visiting different daycares in the United States and Australia.

"The kids have been having a lot of fun playing with them," Barker explained. "They have played outside in a the blizzard, just played in the snow on another day, been to a basketball game, been roller skating for a birthday party, done coloring and art projects with the kids and have played with many toys."

Most of their activities, including a tour of town, have been documented through pictures and posted on Facebook for the kids in England to see.

The kids were also involved in an overseas Christmas card exchange. They made and sent out 84 cards to England, Australia and a few in the U.S.

"We also have over 25 pen pal daycare's from England, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Scotland and the U.S. We are hoping to add more countries. They (the kids) color pictures or make things to send to them. They also tell them about what we do and our area we live in.

"The kids have learned all about the different countries - how they live and how different words can mean the same thing. We have been keeping track on a map where the other daycares are located.

"They also made Gingerbread men. During naptime that day they ran away. We soon were getting emails and letters of their sightings from all over the world. We also marked on a map where the emails and letters were from. The kids were very happy when the gingerbread men returned."

"They are looking forward to another two visitors from Australia and England coming soon!" exclaimed Barker.
