Make Friday the 13th a lucky day for Spring Grove School playground

Some people may think that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day, but Families for Education (FFE) is challenging the community to make it a very lucky day!
Shown are several of the participants and attendees of the event with their prizes.
At the end of March, FFE hosted a Minute-To-Win-It family game fundraiser with proceeds going to the playground project at Spring Grove Public School. The group raised almost $500 during the event!
FFE is now challenging the community to donate to this cause to bring the total to $1,000. If this goal is met by Friday, April 13, FFE will match the funds up to $1,000 thereby making a generous $2,000 (or more) donation to the playground project!
The current playground at the school is about 30 years old. It has held up very well, but is in need of some improvements.
There has also been the on-going fund-raiser of the Green Sneakers Challenge by Mrs. Stenhoff and the third grade class to help raise funds for the playground.
Good-quality used athletic shoes are being collected at the school and will be turned into the Sneakers Challenge for 50¢ per pound with proceeds going to the playground fund.
It was pointed out that students and area children use the playground year-round, even during the summer months.
Playgrounds are very expensive, so if the FFE challenge is met, it will be an excellent donation towards the final goal.
Donations for the challenge can be mailed to FFE, c/o Rob or Amy Gross, 308 3rd Ave. SE, Spring Grove, MN, 55974. Checks can be made out to Families For Education or cash donations can be dropped off at the above address.
Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents and all community members are encouraged to help FFE meet this challenge.
Together, everyone can help make Friday the 13th a lucky day in Spring Grove!
