Spring Grove's Alex Engelhardt has been honored with an invitation to play in Pacesetter's annual summer basketball exhibition games.
The top 200 boys and top 200 girls from Minnesota plus a few selected players from neighboring states have been invited to participate in the Top 100 Expo Showcase Monday and Tuesday, July 1-2, at The College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph.
Players will play four games in two days before college coaches and the Minnesota Basketball News staff who will evaluate players for the 2014-2015 pre-season Top 100 Player List.
The games will include a playoff for the Top 100 Expo Championship. All teams will be coached by college coaches from the MCAC, Minnesota's two-year college conference. College coaches are invited to attend free of charge.
Engelhardt will be a junior this fall at Spring Grove High School after being an all-conference selection after both his sophomore and freshman seasons.
Last year, he led Spring Grove in 3-point accuracy (42%) with the seventh best single season on record. He shared the Lion lead in assists ranking fourth in the conference in that statistical category (4.1 per game).
Engelhardt ranked second among Lion boys in scoring (14.1 points per game), 3-point accuracy (50%) and hustle points (3.1 per game).
