The Spring Grove fifth-grade boys basketball team has had a very successful and exciting year.

The local lads have played two games every Saturday from Jan. 7 through Feb. 25 in the Southeast Minnesota Youth Basketball League, consisting of teams from all over this corner of Minnesota from Plainview to Spring Grove.

The boys ended their regular season with an outstanding 14-0 record. They are now practicing for the Pacesetter Tournament, which will be held at Rochester Community College on Sunday, April 1.

"We are so proud of how these young men have played this year, and it has been an honor to be their coach," said Gary Strinmoen.

"We really appreciate all the parents for running their kids to practice and for all of their support while we traveled to all the schools in our area.

"Also a big thank you to the players, as you have been great to work with and (we) look forward to watching this group through their Lion careers."
