"Most of the day we played very competitive volleyball with all teams but eventual champions M-C," SG Coach Michelle Anderson reported. "The (SG) girls played some great volleyball at times in some very, very hot, sticky conditions. We had all of our players step up and make contributions at various times of the long day."

Anderson said the focus for the Lions now will be playing with more consistency. Unforced errors at crucial times have been costly at times during the opening week of the 2013 campaign. "It is still early in the season so we are trying out some different line-ups, trying to find a combination that will improve our team in such areas as serve reception (and) attack coverage, as well as our ability to put the ball down in our opponent's side of the court," she added.
