On Monday, May 12, the C/SG boys golf team traveled to the Root River County Club in Spring Valley taking on Kingsland. The Warriors defeated the Knights 187-235. Kingsland was also playing Dover-Eyota in a double-dual (not triangular) meet.

Devin Schlitz medaled for C/SG firing a 43. He was joined by Cody Breeser (44), Drew Stemper (50), and Cole Konkel (50) in team totals. Symon Ely and Carson Bullerman also played varsity for the Warriors.

TRC Tournament

Cool and windy conditions prevailed when the Warriors competed again on Thursday as golfers from 11 teams teed it up for the 18-hole Three Rivers Conference Tournament at Rochester's Eastwood Golf Course.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville's Hunter Rue and Lewiston-Altura's Brady Borkowski shared medalist honors, carding 80 on the par 71 course. Schiltz shot a blistering 39 on the back nine and finished just one stroke back at 81 tied with Charlie Krambeer of Rushford-Peterson. There were 61 participants.

R-P won the meet totaling 340 followed by L-A (347), P-E-M (356), Fillmore Central (363), C/SG in fifth place (366), Wabasha-Kellogg (399), Saint Charles (405), Southland (419), Dover-Eyota (442), and Chatfield (461). Kingsland had to settle for an incomplete score since the Knights only sent three golfers.

Schiltz was joined on the score card by Stemper (92), Ely (96), and Breeser (97). Carson Bullerman and Konkel also competed.

C/SG defeated Kingsland 199-212 just as the Herald was going to press on Monday, May 19. Look for details in next week's Herald. On Friday, May 23, the section tournament begins at Eastwood.
