The Warriors touched Tiger pitcher John Brown for only three hits - all in different innings. And Lake City's only error of the game was the final factor in the lone C/SG run.

Kyle Sorenson opened the Warrior third with a line-drive single to center field, went to second on a sacrifice bunt from TJ Schulze and raced home on the error. After two scoreless innings, that tally gave C/SG a 1-0 lead.

But after leaving the bases loaded in the both of the first two innings, the Tigers immediately answered the Warriors with two unearned runs of their own.

Using no hits to take that lead, Lake City still had 10 hits overall including a pair of RBI doubles from Reid Lundell (3 for 4) as the Tigers widened the margin in the fourth and fifth. Sorenson came on in relief to retire the final four Tiger batters in order.

C/SG closed with a 7-9 record, the second straight year the Warriors' season ended with a 6-1 setback in the first round of the playoffs. Lake City improved to 10-10 before falling to top seed La Crescent.

The Tigers did manage to come back with two wins in the losers bracket to advance to section as the sub-section runner-up, but bowed out to Rochester Lourdes. The Eagles met Kasson-Mantorville on June 3 with a trip to state on the line.

C/SG and Lake City had not met since the 2011 sub-section opener, which the Warriors won 10-2.
