The Caledonia/Spring Grove baseball team ended it's regular season on May 20 with a 7-0 road loss against Wabasha-Kellogg, the state's sixth-ranked Class A team.

The Warriors season ended at 7-9 after entering the playoffs with the No. 5 sub-section seed and being eliminated at No. 4 Lake City 6-1 on May 23 a few hours before this holiday issue went to press, Look for complete coverage of that game in next week's Herald.

The Warriors bunched a pair of hits together and advanced runners to third base but could not manage to score last Tuesday. Their best chance came with runners on third and second bases and only one out. A shutout was nearly avoided, but a Warrior was thrown out at home plate attempting to score on a fly out to right field.

Six C/SG ballplayers contributed to a 7-hit offense. Joe Pettit went 2 for 3 while Harrison Speltz was 1 for 2 with a double.

Three Rivers North Division Champion W-K had 11 hits, including 3 doubles.

Two Falcon pitchers issued only 3 walks and were backed up by an error-free defense.

W-K scored in every inning except one when Pettit threw out a runner caught stealing. That big first-inning play kept W-K off the scoreboard despite a single and double.

The regular season ended with W-K improving to 16-2 (10-0 TRC North) and C/SG at 7-8 (5-5 TRC South third place). It was the Warriors' second straight shutout loss to W-K in the last two seasons, but the shared C/SG baseball program is now 4-4 in the series versus the Falcons.
