Par 71 Eastwood Golf Club in Rochester was the venue on Thursday with 47 entrants from 10 programs on hand. Wabasha-Kellogg and Fillmore Central (386) tied for the lowest team totals before the Falcons won the tiebreaker.

The Warriors took third at 412. Lewiston-Altura (429), Chatfield (458), Plainview-Elgin-Millville (494), Saint Charles (504) and Rushford-Peterson (532) fielded complete teams while Southland and Dover-Eyota had to settle for "incomplete" scores.

Courtney Sill of W-K medaled firing an 84. For C/SG, Gavin finished ninth after carding a 98. Paulson and Schroeder (104) were part of a three-way tie for 13th. Peterson rounded out the team score shooting 106. Melde and Sand also competed for C/SG.

"The girls played well at the conference tournament on a cold and windy day," Warriors coach Jacquelyn Snodgrass reported, "412 is a very nice team score, especially since it is the first time some of these girls have seen this course.

Snodgrass noted the consistency which her team achieved with all six golfers shooting 110 and under. "This was a good practice round for the girls, and hopefully we can improve when we are back at Eastwood next week for sub-sections," she added.

C/SG took on Kingsland and La Crescent in a make-up meet as the Herald was going to press on May 19. The girls then head back to Eastwood on Friday, May 23 for the first day of the section tournament.
