Warriors at La Crescent
The Warriors traveled to La Crescent for a dual meet on Jan. 15. The Lancers outscored their guests 131.5 to 124.225 in varsity events but barely edged out the JV, 91.6 to 90.4.
"We managed to take away a few more conference points from La Crescent this meet versus the last meet we had with them this season," Warrior coach Jackie Johnson noted. "Conference points are earned individually for taking the top five in each event."
First place earns 5 points while second gets four, down to one conference point for fifth.
Nineteen out of 22 C/SG/H gymnasts competed on Tuesday with 20 slated to get in the game on Friday, Johnson stated.
Varsity scores included Tara Solberg scoring 8.325 on vault (good for fourth) while Sierra Hunter (8.25), Kaylee Cavanaugh (8.1) and Abby Hoskins (7.95) also competed.
On uneven bars, Cavanaugh earned second place with 8.025 points. Hunter checked in with a 7.975 while Tara Solberg (7.025), Skylar Schoh (6.95) and Hoskins (5.55) also took on the station.

Schultz was the sole JV Warrior to earn an all-around score (25.35). That tied the only Lancer (Abby Lampert) JV all-around competitor.
C/SG/H at Pine Island
A second dual meet took place at Pine Island on Jan. 18. Caledonia was outscored by the Panthers by less than seven points, 126.9 to 123.0. The JV also competed closely with the home team, finishing less than three points behind Pl (93.85 to 96.05).

"We love traveling to Pine Island and seeing new judges," Johnson said, "They are always willing to give us advice on how to improve. This week, we will be using that information to change up a few things in routines and see if we can continue to improve."
