Lidstrom pitched his way to All-TRC recognition for a second straight year. He tossed a team-high 30 and two-thirds innings posting an earned-run average of 2.51. Lidstrom struck out 27 batters while only walking 10.
"Kai did another solid job of pitching for us this year," C/SG coach Dave Konz said. "Not only did he give us quality starts, but he also came in during some sticky situations and was able to pitch us out of them.
Pettit, a catcher, joined Lidstrom on the list. He batted .319, including 4 doubles and two triples. Konz noted Pettit's defensive skills, which often foiled opponents who to tried to steal a base. "His accurate throws and ability to stay in front of bad pitches was a great asset to our team, and he will be missed next year," he stated.
Speltz, a first baseman/designated hitter, led the team at the plate batting .367. "Harrison was our most consistent hitter this year," Konz said. "He came up in many situations where base runners were in scoring position and delivered a hit to score the runs." Those runs batted in (RBIs) totaled 11.
The complete All-TRC South roster included 10 seniors, 6 juniors, no sophomores, and no freshmen.
Chatfield had five players make the grade, including senior pitcher Jake Neis (a third-year honoree), senior Jake Eggers who played in the infield and pitched and juniors Ethan Woltz, Tommy Jech, and Drew Hurley. All three pitched, while Woltz played in the outfield, Jech in the infield, and Hurley took on utility duties.
Southland advanced four seniors. They included three-time winners Luke Anderson (an infielder) and catcher Trent Reinartz. Pitcher Taylor Schwartz earned his second All-TRC baseball award. Pitcher/outfielder Ike Kloeckner also made the Rebel all-conference team.
