Rohrer, Pitts, 4x1 relay win at La Crescent

Last Friday, the La Crescent Booster Club Invitational brought six teams of athletes to Earl Seaton Field on a warm but breezy afternoon. The meet was not scored for team points, but a number of Caledonia/Spring Grove competitors wound up at or near the top in a variety of events.
Caledonia/Spring Grove sprinter Ryan Pitts won both the 100-meter and 200M dash in individual races, crossing the line in 11.39 seconds in the first and 23.67 in the second.
In the middle distances, Nolan Rohrer of C/SG took first in the 400M dash (54.97). It was only the second time he competed at the distance.
Another first place went to the C/SG 4x100M relay team of Pitts, Sam Schulte, Devan Heaney, and Ben McCabe who broke the tape in 45.61.
The C/SG girls 4x100M relay took second place in their event, recording their best time this season. That squad featured Brenna Werner, Amber Conniff, Ali Beardmore, and Josephine Wagner. C/SG thrower Aly Folz also took second in shot put (34-feet, 3.5 inches).
Third place went to the girls 4x400 relay of Wagner, Lydia DeMorett, Samantha Colleran and Tracy Felten.
A number of Warrior individuals and teams earned fourth place finishes. Those included the boys 4x200 squad of Rohrer, Mitchell Anderson, Ezekiel Ott and Case McCormick, who recorded their best time so far this season.
The boys 4x400 team of Rohrer, Andrew Marschall, Thomas Jergenson, and Mitchell Bechtel got fourth in their first entry of the year.
For the ladies, Ali Beardmore took fourth in the 200M dash, and Maria Schieber finished fourth in the 800M run.
The 4x200 relay of Werner, Wagner, DeMorett, and Felten took fourth. Finally, Alexis King tied for fourth in high jump as Folz did in discus throw.
Schulte took fifth in the 200M dash. Ali Beardmore took fifth in the 100M dash while Taylor Beardmore took fifth in the 300M hurdles with a new personal record time.
Werner got fifth in the 200M dash (her first time in the event) while Wagner tied for fifth in high jump.
