Dakotah Rostad, a 2010 graduate of Spring Grove High School, is a member of the Luther College (Decorah, Iowa) baseball team. Rostad is the son of Andy and Lynn Rostad-Anderson of Spring Grove.
He transferred from Rochester Community and Technical College. He was a five-year letter winner at Spring Grove and a five-time academic all-conference member.
Rostad was also all-conference five times beginning with his eighth grade season. He was SG's Most Valuable Player three times before Spring Grove and Caledonia began a shared program his senior year.
In his final season, he was a Wendy's High School Heisman finalist after leading C/SG in batting average, extra-base hits and stolen bases. On the mound, he had the best strikeouts-to-walks ratio. He graduated as Spring Grove's career leader in extra-base hits.
Second year head coach Alex Smith inherits 19 letter winners from last year's squad that posted a record of 25-20 and finished tied for fourth in the Iowa Conference.
Luther opened the 2013 season on March 9 at the Minneapolis Metrodome with a double header sweep of Macalester College. The Norse needed an extra eighth inning to take first game 2-1 before taking the nightcap 4-1.
Rostad played third base in both ends of the twin bill and batted 1 for 4 with a double in the second game.
