A July 31 twin bill triumph secured a fourth straight runner-up finish for Canton Bank in the Canton Men's Softball League. It was a great summer evening to watch softball according to reporter Evonne Morken. Regular-season play ends this week.

Canton Bank 16, Steuart's 9

Steuart's 4-0-0 2-3-0 0 = 9

Canton State Bank lost a first-inning duel but dominated the next two frames both at the plate and in the field.

Parker Johnson hit another home run while Kyle Folstad also sent one over the fence for Canton Bank. For Steuart's, Trevor Storlie hit his fourth homer of the summer.

Canton Bank 28, SG Legion 12

SGL 0-2- 2 0-6-2 = 12

Bank 1-1-13 7-1-5 = 28

Down 4-2, the Bank erupted for a 13 runs in the third inning. The Bank men scored in each inning on the way to a 15-run-rule win after six innings. The 28-run total matched a league-high one week after Chiggy's 28-11 romp over the same opponent.

Tori Nelson contributed his fourth home run of the season for the Bank.

Canton Pub 14, Chiggy's 7

Pub 5-0-0 5-4-0 x =14

The second of a pair of five-run innings was enough for champion Canton Pub to put away Chiggy's in the nightcap. The only home run came from Pub's Paul Tollefsrud, his sixth of the summer.
