The Houston County Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Nov. 3, 1:30 p.m. in their new museum addition at 104 History Lane, Caledonia. Two directors will be elected and the year's activities will be reviewed. The featured speaker is Elaine Hegg, Calmar, Iowa. Elaine will be discussing her recently published book, "Death in a One-room Country School" about the murder of Inga Magnusson. Inga was teaching school at Bergen School District #6 in Allamakee County, Iowa which is just south of Bee, Minnesota. Bee is south of Spring Grove in Wilmington Township. On December 12, 1921, Inga Magnusson was beaten to death by Earl Throst in the basement of the school.

A fifteen year project, Hegg will tell the story of her interesting research including meeting the student who was the last to see Inga alive. There will also be a display of clippings and Inga's graduation dress. The book will be available for purchase following the presentation.

Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served.
