Tuesday, March 20, 2012 7:02 AM
This is so important! Too often stories are lost. Families have the best of intentions of preserving them, and then it doesn't happen.
Many individuals have regrets about losing special memories when a family member dies, and he or she was the one who knew those stories.
For those who have been thinking about writing down their family's story, but putting it off can now get started. It will be easy with the help of the Giants of the Earth Heritage Center and its class instructors Mary Deters and Janna Myrah.
Classes begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 at the Ballard House, 163 W. Main St. in Spring Grove.
Instructors will teach participants how to begin the process and give practical tips and suggestions about organizing your work. Those attending may choose to bring a writing journal or a laptop. There will be class time for writing. The total cost for five sessions is $25.
RSVP is required to (507) 498-5070, call between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Participants may also register online at www.springgrovemnheritagecenter.org.
