Lee Grippen receives annual
volunteer award at Norskedalen

The 30th annual Norskedalen Volunteer Award Banquet was held on April 6 at the Radisson Center in La Crosse, Wis.

Honored this year was Lee Grippen of Caledonia, who has volunteered at Norskedalen the past 30 years. He was honored for his many years of dedicated time and talent to enrich Norskedalen in an exemplary manner.
It was estimated that he drove around 200,000 miles to serve as a volunteer board member as well as other volunteer activities as event chair and host and guide at the facility's "Homestead."
Norskedalen is located near Coon Valley, Wis., and is a 450-acre nature and heritage center that each year, hosts thousands of students who enjoy the curriculum provided at the beautiful site.
Many area students from Spring Grove, Caledonia, Hokah, Houston and La Crescent districts have participated in Norskedalen's educational programs that include Civil War re-enactments as well as pioneer life and the Natures Wonders programs.
