The American Red Cross Bloodmobile visits Spring Grove regularly for a blood drive (approximately every three moths). The agency was here on April 16 and will return again the second week of July.

This month's bloodmobile was short of its goal, but still collected 44 pints - 34 units of whole blood and 10 double red cell units. The Red Cross encourages people to mark their calendars for July and watch for more information on the date and location of the next blood drive.

Donated red blood cells do not last forever; they have a shelf life of up to 42 days. Therefore, the need for blood donations is always present. For more information about area blood drives and giving blood, visit the American Red Cross website at www.redcrossblood.org or call Diane Kroshus at (507) 498-5493.
