Eleven-year-old Addison Deschler of Spring Grove recently donated 12 inches of her hair to Locks of Love.
This is the third time that she has grown out her hair and donated to this organization. Her first donation was when she was 3-1/2 years old, then again when she was 5-1/2 years old.
When asked why she has donated her hair to Locks of Love she said, "It makes me feel good to help these other kids. Even though it seems a little crazy to me to know someone else is wearing my hair, I'm glad that they can because it is sad to know some kids don't have hair."
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 in the United States and Canada suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
She is in the fifth grade at Spring Grove Public School and is the daughter of Joe and Marlene Deschler.
