Music-in-the-Park to feature Irish Rogues
Tuesday, August 20, 2013 6:05 AM
Spring Grove's Music-in-the-Park (MITP) has two weeks left after the Spring Grove Economic Development Authority (EDA) chipped in some extra money to extend the series through the end of the month.
The Simple Rogues will play today (Aug. 21); a group featuring traditional Irish and Scottish folk and a variety of acoustic music! They will play from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Viking Memorial Park. The Fest Building remains the back up location in case of rain.
Food this week will be served by Norwegian Ridge Birding & Nature Trails from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mike McAbee will entertain next week on Aug. 28 to finish up the series. A solo act, McAbee sings, plays guitar and writes a lot of his own material. The Spring Grove Music Boosters group will serve food that evening.
Detour Dollars winners
The Detour Dollars will continue to be drawn each Wednesday before MITP at approximately 6:30 p.m.
In September, the drawings will move to the Fest Building, where "kubb" practice will take place each Wednesday evening in anticipation of the kubb tournament during UffDa Fest on Oct. 5.
Participants need not be present to win, but they'll win more if they are! You must be present to win the top $144 weekly top prize; if not present, $44 will be forfeited and winner will be notified of the $100 prize.
Registration locations change weekly - visit four businesses each week to increase your odds! You may register once per day at participating location (listed online at www.springgrovemn.com).
