The Spring Grove community can't seem to catch a break when it comes to storm damage this fall. Much damage remains unrepaired from the epic hailstorm on Sept. 4.

Another smaller-scale thunderstorm ripped through the area in the early morning hours of Oct. 25, damaging Farmers Co-op Elevator Company's Spring Grove fertilizer facility, behind Ellingson's Elevator.

Although the storm blew the receiving leg onto the roof of the facility, Agronomy Division Manager Roger Taylor said, "We were able to continue normal operations at Spring Grove with a few slight adjustments to receiving and distribution processes."

A crane had arrived by mid-day on Thursday and removed the leg from the roof; all repairs should be completed within a few weeks.

Farmers Co-op Elevator operates three fertilizer facilities, the other two are in Houston and Rushford.
