Valheim Sons of Norway met on Saturday in the Legion basement for it's February meeting. The program was presented by Marilyn Hemstead of La Crosse, Wis.

She featured a special program, which included hundreds of various kinds of Valentines. She began with the history of the special day and the legend of St. Valentine. Her timely topic was enjoyed by the group.

Sons of Norway will host the well-known area artist Carl Homstad at its Saturday, March 9 meeting. Homstad has some of his works at the Bluff Country Artists Gallery in downtown Spring Grove.

Homstad painted the four large murals that adorn various building throughout Spring Grove. Be sure to visit the gallery and enjoy his works.

A special tour to Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum in Decorah, Iowa, is being planned to view the exhibit of Carl Homstad's work, which is being featured at through April.

The tour will leave from Trinity Lurtheran Church parking lot in Spring Grove at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 7. The group will see the Homstad exhibit at Vesterheim and also view the Norwegian family film "Johan Barnevandrer" at the Amdal Odland Heritage Center.
