The Valheim Sons of Norway met on Jan. 12 for its Souper Saturday meeting.

Spring Grove alumnus Thomas Trehus presented a program on his semester abroad in Argentina, where he studied in Buenos Aries, the capital city and the university's home.

During his stay, Trehus related of his travels to Peru, where he enjoyed a trip to the famous Machu Pichu site along with other sites in the country. He also traveled to sites in Patagonia, Uruguay and Brazil during his stay in the Southern Hemisphere.

Trehus became the newest member of the Valheim Lodge Sons of Norway. He will travel to Norway for seven weeks in February and will present a program on his travels later.

"Hopefully, he can use the Norwegian language in his program," remarked Lee Grippen Sons of Norway cultural director.

Trehus graduated from Spring Grove High School in 2008 and the University of Minnesota in December of 2012. He is the son of Dave and Donna Trehus of rural Spring Grove.
