The Mollie B. Christmas Special will feature local musicians Chad, Kennedy, Xavier, Jim and Mary Lou Busta along with Mollie Busta Lange on Sunday, Nov. 11, and Monday, Nov. 12, at RFD-TV The Theatre in Branson, Mo.
Alex Meixner (Texas), Mollie B. and Michael Morris (Texas) playing “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” during the taping of last year’s Mollie B. Christmas Special.
The production will be re-broadcast several times in December on RFD-TV and RURAL TV for fans that cannot experience the performance in-person. Tune in to DIRECTV 345, DISH Network 231 and 232, or contact a cable provider for local listings.
Playing at RFD-TV The Theatre off Branson's historic 76 strip, Mollie B. and fellow musicians will entertain audiences for about two hours to celebrate the Christmas season with a variety of music, including a few Christmas polkas.
Fans can enjoy her riveting renditions of "Ave Maria" and "Sleigh Ride," as well as "I'll Be Home with Bells On."
Lange was raised in a family where polka music was played, danced and listened to often. She found her way to the stage by age 3 and still today enjoys entertaining crowds across the nation with her music.
She performs with her husband, Ted Lange, in their band SqueezeBox. Mollie B. occasionally travels back to Minnesota to play with her dad's band, the Jim Busta Band.
Chad Busta (dancer) has been the drummer of the Jim Busta Band for 28 years and has been dancing with his sister, Mollie, just as long. Chad currently resides in Onalaska, Wis., with his wife, Tricia, and two children, Kennedy and Xavier.
Kennedy (children's chorus), found a spot singing with the Jim Busta Band at 2 1/2 years old.
Xavier Busta (bells) took after his sister and sang his first song with his grandpa's band at the age of 2 and hopes to someday play the concertina like his grandpa and drums like his dad.
Jim and Mary Lou Busta (dancers) met on the dance floor over 40 years ago and still enjoy dancing together today. They are the proud parents of four children, including both Chad and Mollie, and grandparents to Kennedy and Xavier. Jim has been the leader of the Jim Busta Band for 33 years. The couple resides in Spring Grove.
The Mollie B. Christmas Special previously won an award for best variety recording and is anticipated to be another huge success this year. The show features Mollie B.
DVD and CD versions of the performance will also be made available. Tickets and more information are available at www.rfdtvthetheatre.com.
She also hosts her own polka show called the Mollie B. Polka Party. The show airs on RURAL TV on Sunday nights and RFD-TV on Wednesday night, repeats on Thursday morning, airs a NEW show on Saturday night, and repeats that show on Monday morning.
