Get ready for adventure! Now is the time to join the fun and excitement of America's foremost youth program for boys - Cub Scouting. A sign-up night will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at the Trinity Center.

District executive Tammy Schmitz of the Seven Rivers District Gateway Area Council Boy Scouts of America spoke to the kindergarten boys during lunchtime on April 29 to spark interest for a summer of scouting.

Cub Scouting is a home and neighborhood centered program designed to support and encourage quality family involvement for boys age 6 to 10.

Scouting combines outdoor activities, sports, academics and more in a fun and exciting program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenship and respect.

The Boy Scouts of America is composed of more than 1.27 million volunteers working together for the sole purpose of helping its more than 3 million youth succeed in life.

Now is the chance to get your son or grandson involved in scouting. For more information about how to join, contact Lori Johnson at (507) 450-9081 or Sue Schulte at (507) 498-5437.

A parent or guardian should attend with their child for the sign-up evening on May 1.
