YOOH again hosting medallion hunt for children
Tuesday, May 14, 2013 6:13 AM
Calling all kids that love a challenge! The Ye Olde Opera House (YOOH) is sponsoring its second annual medallion hunt during Syttende Mai.
Stop at the Opera House at 155 W. Main St. (across from Kwik Trip) in Spring Grove before 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, to pick up the first clue as to where the medallions are hidden.
Participants will be placed in age groups of 5 to 8 years old, 9-12 and 13 & older. Hunters will decipher the clues and use their skills to discover where the medallions are hidden - there will be three hidden (one for each age group), all with different clues.
New this year is the shotgun start at 10 a.m. from the YOOH building, where clues should be picked up.
Once the lucky hunter finds the medallion, they need to return it to the Opera House where they will receive their prize of Spring Grove Dollars.
Hunters are eligible to find one medallion only. Parents and young children are encouraged to hunt together; older children can decipher the clues and track down the medallion on their own.
The medallion hunt will take place from 10 a.m. until found (or no later than 1 p.m.). The Opera House will be open from 8-10 a.m. for its garage sale that day. Look below for a complete listing of other garage sales going on.
