Arnelda Ann (Fitzthum) Ramaker, 82, formerly of Wykoff died on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Western Home Communities Thalman Square in Ceder Falls, Iowa.

She was born on August 24, 1931 to William and Anna (Jeche) Fitzhum in Wykoff.

The youngest of three children, she grew up during the Great Depression, giving her a lasting appreciation for her loving family and her faith in God. She graduated as Valedictorian from Wykoff High School in 1949.

On Sept. 12, 1953, she met and eventually married the love of her life, Arlyn Ramaker. They had two children, Danny and Joellen, and enjoyed 38 wonderful years together before her husband died on Sept. 14, 1991.

She worked at Waterloo Savings Bank and then at Bradfield-Schneider State Farm Insurance for 38 years.

Faith was a driving force in her life. She was active in Ladies' Aid, Adult Bible Study and Pie Ladies at Grace Lutheran Church for many years. She was an avid bowler, attended card club and loved to travel with her dear friend Cookie.

She is survived by her son, Dan (Toni) Ramaker of Gilbertville; daughter Joellen (Jason) Wahner of Cedar Falls; one brother, Marvin (Elaine) Fitzthum; six grandchildren, Amanda (Matt) Freet, Kyle (Allison) Ramaker, Holly (Robby Marquart) Ramaker, Jason (Cassandra) Walter, Jeffrey Walter and Jerod Walter and Baby Jacob Walter on-the-way.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie and her sister, Ardis Schultz.

Funeral services for her were held on Tuesday, March 18, at Grace Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa. Burial followed at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo.

A memorial fund for her is being established.
