Darrell Danielson, 66, of Chatfield, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield.

He was born in Rochester to Chester and Gladys (Brenno) Danielson on June 28, 1947.

On Jan. 14, 1967, he married Pam Holtegaard at Chatfield Lutheran Church.

He previously worked at the Rochester Turkey Hatchery and the Chatfield Super Valu. For the last ten years, he worked for the Post-Bulletin as a rural carrier.

He always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed going to the casino. He and his wife loved to travel across the United States, exploring casinos.

He is survived by his wife, Pam, of Chatfield; son, Greg (Cindy) of Wykoff; three granddaughters, Dawn (John) Walston, Debbie (Mitchell Strain) and Deanna; two great-granddaughters, Kiara and Javaeh; two sisters, Donna (Dick) Hart and Betty Connelly, and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Arland, Clair, Duane, LaVern, Jerry, Lavonne Schoppner and Mavis Danielson.

A funeral service celebrating his life was held on Monday, Jan. 13, at Chatfield Lutheran Church in Chatfield, with the Rev. Mark Docken officiating.

Burial followed the service at Chatfield Cemetery.

Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield assisted the family with the funeral arrangements.
