Elizabeth Groski, 70, mother of Fillmore man

Elizabeth "Betty" Groski, 70, of Eyota, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, after a 14-month battle with cancer.
She was born March 20, 1943, in Winona, to Oliver and Florence (Stephens) Becker.
On Feb. 4, 1961, she married Richard Groski in Lewiston. In 1962, they moved to Plainview. They moved to Eyota in 1974. She worked most of her life bartending in Plainview, Rochester and Eyota.
She enjoyed camping, fishing, time with her family, baking and going to the casino.
She is survived by her husband, Richard of Eyota; children, Pamela Groski-Ebling of Byron, Ronald (Carilee) of Fillmore, Michael (Jennifer) of Chatfield, David (Jeanne) of Stewartville, Scott of Eyota and James (Jenniffer) of Rochester; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, William (Gladys) Becker of Wilson, Rose Gilbertson of Cloquet, Gerald Becker of Eyota, Richard Becker of Stagecoach, Nev., and Judy Timm of Jackson, Calif.
She was preceded in death one brother, Robert, and one granddaughter.
The funeral service was held last Saturday at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Eyota with the Rev. Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial followed at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery.
Schad & Zabel Funeral Home in Eyota assisted the family with the arrangements.
